The Fugly Darter is a flat tail swimbait (fluke style) with a long thin tail and tail fin. The Fugly Darter can be twitched, retrieved fast or slow. Different retrieves have different actions, from flutters, belly rolls and easy swimming – This bait has it all! The Darter has a hook slot in the belly and also a hook groove on the back, that makes this bait weedless.
 
It is best to rig the Darter with a swimbait hook, or with an offset hook. We like to slowly reel it in, with a twitch every now and again. This is also when the strike comes.
